Objectives, content and method of the course:
The aim of the course is to take up and discuss in depth certain contents and questions that were addressed in the VO Introduction to Law and its International Aspects from the previous winter semester (https://ufind.univie.ac.at/de/course.html?lv=030595&semester=2021W). For this purpose, relevant texts (articles, norms, court decisions) will be read in preparation. Those texts will then serve as a basis for discussion in the course.
In terms of content, emphasis will be placed on the theory of legal sources and hierarchies of norms, legal methodology and international aspects of law.
The course is held partly in German, partly in English (depending on the relevant text for the respective unit).

Perfol:
Participation and a written paper, details of which will be discussed in the first unit.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria:
The course presupposes knowledge of the contents of the lecture Introduction to Law and Its International Aspects. The units of that lecture are available in the corresponding Moodle course from the winter semester.
The standard of assessment is the quality of class participation and the quality of the homework

Examination material:
For the paper, a part of the treated texts should be worked on or referred to.
Will be announced in due time before the respective units.
