Mag. Florian Hule - Curriculum vitae

Florian Hule studied law at and received a masters’ degree from the University of Vienna, with a specialisation in Business Law. During his masters’ degree he participated in the Civil Law Moot Court at the University of Vienna and won the M&A Contract Competition at the University of Vienna in 2016 and the national finale in 2017.

During his masters’ degree he worked as a research assistant at an Austrian law firm, and as a research assistant and tutor at the University of Vienna at the Department of European, International and Comparative Law and at the Department of Commercial and Business Law. Additionally, he completed several international legal summer programs (among others, at the University of Cambridge, Yale University, and the European University Institute) and served as a member of the University Senate and as a substitute member of the Appeal Commission of the University of Vienna.After his masters’ degree he worked as an associate at an Austrian law firm. Since November 2020 he is a University Assistant (“prae-doc”) at the Department of Commercial and Business Law at the University of Vienna at the chair of Univ.-Prof. Dr. Chris Thomale.

His PhD project analyses and compares shareholders’ agreements in Venture Capital and Private Equity investments in Austria, Germany, and the United Kingdom. In the winter term 2021 he received research grants for his PhD project from the Heinrich Graf Hardegg´sche Stiftung and the Max-Planck-Institut für ausländisches und internationales Privatrecht in Hamburg.

In the summer term 2022, he was a visiting researcher at the Max-Planck-Institut für ausländisches und internationales Privatrecht in Hamburg and in August 2022 at the Institut für ausländisches und internationales Privat- und Wirtschaftsrecht at the Ruprecht Karl University of Heidelberg.

Florian is a fellow of Advanced Research School in Law and Jurisprudence (Ars Iuris) at the University of Vienna.
